Impromptu: A Miami Beach Pop-up Performance Series

Miami City Ballet brings professional dancers right into South Florida neighborhoods making the art accessible for all. The pop-up performances are choreographed and performed by MCB’s world-class dancers, offering audiences a fresh way to experience ballet in unique settings.

Initially entitled, To Miami, With Love, the series was born in response to the pandemic and the need for outdoor performance. The pop-ups were the company’s way of saying thank you to the communities that have supported MCB throughout the years by providing the healing power of the arts to elicit hope and resilience. I attended this performance and enjoyed it immensely:

Miami City Ballet Performance at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens

We hope you enjoyed our collaboration with Miami City Ballet to bring a Japanese-inspired ballet performance to the Roji-en gardens.

This special presentation of the Miami City Ballet's program "To Florida, With Love" included a piece specifically crafted for the Morikami Museum. "Meiyo No Tame" (For Honor) was choreographed by Ariel Rose and performed by Satoki Habuchi and Anna Grunewald.
